In "An Unsovereign Life, V," Eastman’s intricate linework and rich blue hues form a composition that floats within white space. The interplay of dense patterns and open areas draws viewers into a visual dialogue on the delicate boundaries that hold us together or pull us apart. This piece embodies Eastman’s ongoing inquiry into interconnectedness, weaving organic shapes to evoke complex, layered narratives.

About Dale Eastman

Dale Eastman is a multi-media artist who trained early on as both a seamstress and a journalist. Using a wide range of skills--from hand sewing to drawing to woodworking--Dale's art practice continually reaches for new connections, all in search of the underlying wholeness each of us craves. Her influences are also disparate, including artist Leonora Carrington, naturalist Ernst Haeckel and analytical psychologist Carl Jung. Prior to becoming an artist, Dale spent nearly two decades as a writer. Even now, from her art studio atop Russian Hill--one of the few San Francisco neighborhoods to survive the 1906 earthquake--storytelling is at the core of what she creates.
