In "An Unsovereign Life, III," Eastman presents a delicate interplay of form and openness, rendered in ink on paper. The intricate linework and muted tones create a sense of fragility, as though each curve and connection might dissolve or transform at any moment. This piece captures a fleeting balance, inviting viewers to linger on the tension between solidity and impermanence. It embodies Eastman’s exploration of inner boundaries and the organic flow of change.

About Dale Eastman

Dale Eastman is a multi-media artist who trained early on as both a seamstress and a journalist. Using a wide range of skills--from hand sewing to drawing to woodworking--Dale's art practice continually reaches for new connections, all in search of the underlying wholeness each of us craves. Her influences are also disparate, including artist Leonora Carrington, naturalist Ernst Haeckel and analytical psychologist Carl Jung. Prior to becoming an artist, Dale spent nearly two decades as a writer. Even now, from her art studio atop Russian Hill--one of the few San Francisco neighborhoods to survive the 1906 earthquake--storytelling is at the core of what she creates.
