In "Centered Cedar," Olsen-Dunn isolates the top of a cedar tree against a striking backdrop, drawing the viewer’s focus to its silhouette amid an intense spectrum of color. The tree’s deep hues emerge from below a pink-red sky, while vibrant vertical bands stream downwards, creating a surreal and grounded vision. By surrounding the cedar with intense, almost overpowering color, Olsen-Dunn amplifies its presence, asking us to pause and appreciate a singular moment of nature amidst a sea of abstraction.
