Every Once In A While, A Man Stands Up From the Dinner Table And Runs Toward The East, I
In this standalone work, Eastman brings together acrylic paint, collage, and ink on paper to craft a scene that brims with narrative complexity yet remains remarkably cohesive. The intricate layering of organic shapes and textures, interwoven with patterns and botanical forms, evokes a sense of movement and transformation. With each element thoughtfully placed, this piece guides the eye through a surreal journey, hinting at themes of escape, introspection, and the lure of the unknown. Eastman’s mastery of diverse materials shines here. The work is both visually rich and thematically profound.

About Dale Eastman
Dale Eastman is a multi-media artist who trained early on as both a seamstress and a journalist. Using a wide range of skills--from hand sewing to drawing to woodworking--Dale's art practice continually reaches for new connections, all in search of the underlying wholeness each of us craves. Her influences are also disparate, including artist Leonora Carrington, naturalist Ernst Haeckel and analytical psychologist Carl Jung. Prior to becoming an artist, Dale spent nearly two decades as a writer. Even now, from her art studio atop Russian Hill--one of the few San Francisco neighborhoods to survive the 1906 earthquake--storytelling is at the core of what she creates.
