The Gathering
The Gathering
In "The Gathering," crafted on a large wooden panel, Eastman channels her talent as a storyteller, bringing to life a world inhabited by strange, mythic figures. Set against a warm golden backdrop, the scene contrasts with ominous forms that loom overhead, infusing the piece with a sense of both wonder and foreboding.

About Dale Eastman
Dale Eastman is a multi-media artist who trained early on as both a seamstress and a journalist. Using a wide range of skills--from hand sewing to drawing to woodworking--Dale's art practice continually reaches for new connections, all in search of the underlying wholeness each of us craves. Her influences are also disparate, including artist Leonora Carrington, naturalist Ernst Haeckel and analytical psychologist Carl Jung. Prior to becoming an artist, Dale spent nearly two decades as a writer. Even now, from her art studio atop Russian Hill--one of the few San Francisco neighborhoods to survive the 1906 earthquake--storytelling is at the core of what she creates.
