Showcased at the prestigious de Young Open in 2023, "Mendo Fences" captures the balance between the man-made and the natural, where a familiar Mendocino fence merges with an eruption of colors and textures. This piece unfolds in organic and surreal hues, as if nature itself is reclaiming the structure. Olsen-Dunn’s layered technique draws viewers into a world where boundaries seem to dissolve, leaving the fence as a whisper of its former self. This piece exemplifies her mastery in blurring lines between painted forms and digital traces.
