"Ridge Walk" transforms a familiar coastal scene into a surreal landscape of vibrant hues. The weathered fence, a classic marker of Mendocino and Sea Ranch trails, stands against a backdrop of red-tinted water and a turquoise sky, while purple rocks punctuate the surreal vista. Olsen-Dunn's use of unconventional colors encourages the viewer to imagine an altered reality, where the ordinary becomes extraordinary. The striking palette and disintegrating fence evoke a sense of mystery, offering a unique perspective on the erosion of nature and the passage of time along California's coastal trails.
