In "The Crossing," Eastman presents her most profound biomorphic creation, a culmination of years spent exploring the essence of our connection to the natural world. This intricate composition, woven from countless patterns and organic shapes, pushes the boundaries of form and rootedness. The flowing, almost cellular structures suggest a world in constant transformation, grounding the viewer in an organic landscape that feels familiar and otherworldly. This piece reflects Eastman’s quest to uncover the primal connections that bind us to nature.

About Dale Eastman

Dale Eastman is a multi-media artist who trained early on as both a seamstress and a journalist. Using a wide range of skills--from hand sewing to drawing to woodworking--Dale's art practice continually reaches for new connections, all in search of the underlying wholeness each of us craves. Her influences are also disparate, including artist Leonora Carrington, naturalist Ernst Haeckel and analytical psychologist Carl Jung. Prior to becoming an artist, Dale spent nearly two decades as a writer. Even now, from her art studio atop Russian Hill--one of the few San Francisco neighborhoods to survive the 1906 earthquake--storytelling is at the core of what she creates.
