There Is No Other, II
There Is No Other, II
In "There Is No Other, II," Eastman brings together the organic and the mechanical, centering a beautifully textured tree trunk against the intricate circuitry of a computer motherboard. Framed by fragments of sky, this collage conjures a fusion of nature and technology, urging viewers to question their initial perceptions. The composition reflects Eastman’s exploration of how we see the world - often filtered through personal expectations and inner narratives. This piece serves as a reminder that what we perceive might be a reflection of our own minds, challenging the notion of the "other" and inviting deeper introspection.

About Dale Eastman
Dale Eastman is a multi-media artist who trained early on as both a seamstress and a journalist. Using a wide range of skills--from hand sewing to drawing to woodworking--Dale's art practice continually reaches for new connections, all in search of the underlying wholeness each of us craves. Her influences are also disparate, including artist Leonora Carrington, naturalist Ernst Haeckel and analytical psychologist Carl Jung. Prior to becoming an artist, Dale spent nearly two decades as a writer. Even now, from her art studio atop Russian Hill--one of the few San Francisco neighborhoods to survive the 1906 earthquake--storytelling is at the core of what she creates.
